Sometimes dreams come true. Most times, you have to wrestle them down and make it yours. Beth and I have recently retired and are looking for a new adventure, maybe. We want to transform our lives, maybe. We want to live life to the fullest, most likely.
Our dream is to live in a perfect place, with perfect weather and perfect people. We don’t know where or if that place exists. We aren’t sure we are willing to do what it takes. We don’t know if we are healthy enough or brave enough or adventurous enough to chase down that dream, but here we go. We are going to be expats in Mexico. Maybe.
Had I been writing this blog thirty years ago, there would have been no maybes. (And I would now be a zillionaire because I thought up the internet.) The benefit of being younger is not yet being personally acquainted with limitations. I was blissfully unaware that bones break and joints ache and just because you say it is so, does not make it so. (I have come full circle on this last point, but that’s for a later blog)
Today, we have a lifetime of manifestation to repurpose and limited thoughts to sort through. This blog will be a bit different. We are not world travelers nor particularly adventurous. We do not climb mountains or sail blue water.
We are old but not too old (Maybe). We are also not done and have many years ahead of ourselves. So that’s the challenge. Are we going to spend those years watching videos about expats having new adventures or are we going to live one of our own?
We are moving forward, one step at a time, to see where this journey takes us.
Today it has taken us on our second trip to Ajijic, Mexico. This time for thirty days. Don’t know where Ajijic is? Come join us on our adventure and find out. Our intention is to inspire others to take a risk and chart their own steps to adventure. We don’t know how this will unfold, but that’s what makes life an adventure. No maybes about that.
