 Gerald Gould's Biography

IMG_2190.JPG

Surprise, I am a writer. I woke up one night on vacation and wrote the first notes of Martin on a motel scratch pad before the dream went wherever it is they go. The first whisperings of dozens of friends who introduced themselves in the next five years. I visited and chronicled their adventures. I was never sure where they would go but knew it would be profound. Now that one adventure is done, and others are started, it is time to share their story with you. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do and find their journey an inspiration to wherever it is that you are going.

I had a long career in social services helping children and adults make their lives a little better. After years as an investigative social worker in Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services, I retired as an administrator in a state agency helping elderly and disabled adults. I started my spiritual journey in earnest nearly three decades ago and have learned that we are never alone unless we want it to be. I am just beginning to appreciate what I don’t know, a theme woven into the stories I tell.

Beth, my wife of twenty-five years is my greatest supporter, encourages me to go write when my mood sours. My children are grown, and I help how I can with the next generation, all great teachers in exploring what life has to offer.

Beth and I are making changes. We are in the process of selling our house of over twenty years so we can spend winters in Ajijic Mexico. We will spend summer in our new camping lot nearby. I have been inspired by our new village (pronounced A -Hee-Hick.) to write a new novel and look forward to many more adventures were my stories and was passes for reality merge.
